Course Description
This MITAGS-National Cargo Bureau Course thirty-five hour course provides general awareness, function specific, emergency response, and safety training related to the transport, stowage, and handling of hazardous materials / dangerous cargoes aboard vessels. This course includes training and instruction in the subject areas of: The course is taught by highly experienced National Cargo Bureau Surveyors (NCB).
This course satisfies the following STCW95 and CFR training requirements:
Pre-requisites- None, but it is preferred that attendees be:USCG Deck Officer License or equivalent background and experience.
What You Will Learn
has successfully completed a custom five-day National Cargo Bureau, Inc. Hazardous Materials Training Program offered through Maritime Advancement, Training, Education and Safety Program at the Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies, comprised of training and testing in security awareness and general awareness/familiarization concerning the requirements of subchapter C, Title 49, Code of Federal regulations, including training requirements (172 Subpart H), and function specific training on the use of the Hazmat Tables and appendices (172 Subpart B), shipping papers (172 Subpart C), emergency response information (172 Subpart G), introduction to the IMDG Code and detailed stowage and segregation training in the applicable requirements of 49 CFR, the IMDG Code and SOLAS.
