Course Description
This two-day course is designed to cover the basic elements of ECDIS as required by the international and national regulations, and the recommendations of The American Pilot Association. The course will include classroom instruction and demonstrations utilizing Transas NaviTrainer Desktop Simulation, NaviSailor 3000 ECDIS. The candidates will demonstrate proficiency in selected ECDIS and AIS tasks including ARPA integration and observance of proper Bridge Resource Management procedures.
What You Will Learn
Student who successfully completed the fourteen (14) hour classroom and simulation course for Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems (ECDIS) and Electronic Navigation (e-Nav) for pilots offered by the Maritime Advancement, Training, Education and Safety Program through the Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies. This course curriculum includes the proper use and operation of ECDIS in terms of a thorough understanding and appreciation of its capabilities and limitations.
