Course Description

This course is intended to familiarize USCG and Civilian personnel responsible for the security of liquefied gas tanker and terminal safety and cargo operations. The attendee will be provided with instruction, information and experience relevant to their assigned duties. Classroom training is augmented with opportunities for hands-on application using the LNG ship simulator

 

Pre-Requisites:The student should have completed an appropriate approved fire-fighting course and an approved course on first aid. These courses are also offered at MIATGS and PMI

This course includes a trip to a LNG receiving Terminal at Cove Point, MD. To visit a LNG vessel.

Students who completed a One-week course in Cryogenic Gas Operations offered by the Maritime Advancement, Training, Education and Safety Program through the Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies, and has been instructed in the operation of liquefied natural gas carriers including the areas of vessel safety, cryogenic cargo properties, thermodynamics, cargo handling, gas detection systems, cargo containment, IMO and USCG/DOT regulations and inspection procedures.
