Course Description
Success in today’s marine environment takes more than just technical competence. Leadership, interpersonal conduct and communication skill sets are crucial. This 4-day course is designed to address those essential elements missing from the maritime industry’s extensive professional training requirements. This course is designed to augment the professional knowledge of Licensed officers in the areas of procedures, practices and policies apply to Leadership and Communications, conducting successful meetings, interpersonal conduct and diversity, and risk management.
Pre-requisites-Attendees in the Management, Communications and Leadership program must be a senior ships officer or senior staff ashore.

Students who satisfactorily completed the 21 hour “Management, Communications & Leadership Course” offered by the Maritime Advancement, Training, Education and Safety Program through the Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies. This course provides instruction on Leadership, Verbal and Written Communications, Interpersonal Conduct, and Safety Management.
