Course Description

This one-day seminar provides an introduction to the environmental aspects of vessel operations and the basic structure of the marine regulatory environment. This course is intended to give vessel operators a broad perspective on the potential environmental impacts of their operations in order to gain a greater appreciation for why the EPA permit has been required. This section will not discuss the vessel general permit in great detail, but will serve to highlight the environmental issues and the international regulatory system encountered in marine vessel operations

Students who satisfactorily completed the 7-hour course “Environmental Regulations” offered by the Maritime Advancement, Training, Education and Safety Program through the Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies.
