Course Description
This course is designed for mariners designated to assist passengers in emergency situations. Attendees become familiar with lifesaving appliances and control plans, learn mustering procedures, and demonstrate the ability to assist passengers to muster stations.
This USCG approved course satisfies the crowd management training requirements for "RO-RO" passenger vessels and "other than RO-RO" passenger vessels set forth in Sections A-V/2 and A-V/3 of the STCW Code. Additionally, the course satisfies the safety training requirements of Section A-V/2, paragraph 3, and Section A-V/3, paragraph 3, for both "RO-RO" and "other than RO-RO" passenger vessels.
What You Will Learn
- Be aware of life-saving appliances and control plans
- How to assist passengers en route to muster and embarkation stations
- To demonstrate knowledge of mustering procedures
- How to communicate and direct passengers during an emergency
Atendees who successfully complete the course of instruction provided by the Maritime Advancement, Training, Education and Safety Program through the Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies and has demonstrated knowledge and skills in Crowd Management (MITAGS-142). Any applicant successfull ycompleting MITAGS7-hour Crowd Management course and presenting the Certificate of Training at aRegional Exam Center, will satisfy:
- The Crowd Management training requirements of Paragraph 1 o fSection A-V/2 of theSTCW Code for Ro-Ro Passenger Vessels, Paragraph 1 of Section A-V/3 of the STCW Code for Passenger Ships Other Than Ro-Ro Passenger Vessels; AND
- The Safety Training requirements of Paragraph 3 of Section A-V/2 of the STCW Code for RoRo Passenger Vessels and Paragraph 3 of Section A-V/3 of the STCW Code for Passenger Ships Other Than Ro-Ro Passenger Vessels.
