Course Description
This course is designed for mariners designated to assist passengers in emergency situations on passenger vessels. Attendees learn to assist passengers in emergency situations, control passenger responses in emergency situations, and establish and maintain effective communications.
This course satisfies the following STCW95 and CFR requirements:
- STCW 95 Section A-V/2
- STCW 95 Section A-V/3

- Organize shipboard emergency procedures
- Optimize the use of resources
Attendees who successfully complete the course of instruction provided by the Maritime Advancement, Training, Education and Safety Program through the Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies and have demonstrated knowledge and skills in Crisis Management and Human Behavior necessary to satisfy the requirements of the STCW 95 Regulation V/2, Paragraph 8; STCW 95 Section A-V/2, Paragraph 5 and Regulation V/3, Paragraph 8; STCW 95 Code Section A-V/3, Paragraph 5.
